Donnington "Digni-Tea"

As part of their Guided Options, a group of KS4 students have been attending Donnington Bupa Nursing Home on a fortnightly bases. During these visits they have been putting their teamwork skills to good use playing games with the elderly residents.

The residents have enjoyed our student's company so much that they were invited to join them at their "Digni-Tea" tea party to help celebrate Dignity Action Day. Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives. It is an annual opportunity to uphold people's rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people who use care services.

Our students joined the residents in writing their wishes for the future which were then attached to balloons. Together, our students and the residents released the balloons and the wishes into the sky.

As you can see, everyone involved had a wonderful time and a memorable day was most definitely created.
