Dragon's Den

Over the summer term Donnington Class students worked on developing ideas for a theme park. They needed to plan what would be in their park, the prices, the entertainment and where it would be built as well as the costs.

They then had to present their ideas in front of a group of Dragons and be questioned about their ideas.

It was a fantastic event and the students did us proud. The Dragons, consisting of John "Bannatyne" Moore, Peter "Paphitis" Kyle, Eileen "Meadon" Roddis and Peter "Jones" Thonrton, asked some searching and challenging questions, but were blown away by the students work and answers.

At the end of the presentations, The Dragons decided that the winner was Jacob for his brilliant presentation skills and ideas.

The Dragons had a wonderful time and here are some of the things they said:

"Have to say it was a real pleasure to spend the morning with the children and staff at your school.

All the children looked like they had put in loads of effort prior to the day, were superbly behaved, and explained their ideas and answered our daft questions with great clarity and confidence - not sure I would have been able to do that at their age.  Your team must be doing a fantastic job to bring them up to that level of achievement.

Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to come along."

"Couldn't agree more, amazing achievement for them all & a privilege for us."

"Amazing day at the Castle School yet again.

Kids - fantastic
Teachers - amazing
Headteacher - so so!
Dragons den - amazingly upstaged by the wonderful kids.

Congratulations to Jacob who managed a full score. But the others were very close. I have to say my heart almost ruled my head and wanted to give them all the thumbs up. Sadly I didn't.

Well done to all panel members too, you carried out you roles with consummate ease that even Evan Davis would not be able to tell the difference. I really enjoyed it.

Well done Jon, you truly have an amazing team and an amazing school of kids."
