Lancaster Quiz Night

Callum in Lancaster writes:

Lancaster’s Quiz Night
Lancaster class held a quiz night at Post -16 on the 12th February. The students in Lancaster class have to raise £4.000 pounds to go on a residential for our Duke of Edinburgh. That night we raised £596.

We made this money by selling tickets and wine and a meal. The drinks were alcohol and soft drinks and we cooked bangers and mash for the meal. We had a raffle and people won prizes. The students were in the kitchen. It got very stressful but we got there in the end serving 45 portions. We have developed our skills in the kitchen because we run a lunch club on Tuesdays. We are very good at cooking now.

Thank you to all the people that came to our quiz night. Thanks to Fee’s husband and son for running the quiz questions and thank you to all the parents for coming. This would not happen without you.

Special thanks to all the supermarkets that donated wine and raffle prizes. We would like to thank Griffins for the delicious sausages and Robinsons for giving us the potatoes and onions for our quiz night. Thank you so much

A football tournament win :-)

Our football teams go out regularly to take part in competitions and we are always praised for our pupils' exceptional behaviour and sportsmanship. Despite their gallant efforts we don't always win - however, on Tuesday this week our girls' football team showed their determination and skill by not only winning the tournament, but by winning every match they took part in. This is a fantastic achievement and we are all very proud of the team led by our PE Teacher Emma Bryant. The results were:

Match 1:  Castle 4 - 0 Brookfields A    Goals scored by:  Kirra 2, Alisha 2

Match 2:  Castle 6 - 0 Addingdon B    Goals scored by:  Kirra 1, Alisha 1, Jane-Marie 2, Alissa 2

Match 3:  Castle 7 - 1 Addington A    Goals scored by:  Kirra 1, Alisha 2, Jane-Marie 1, Alissa 3

Match 4:  Castle 3 - 0 Brookfields B    Goals scored by:  Kirra 1, Alisha 2

Match 5:  Castle 4 - 1 Kennel Lane    Goals scored by:  Amy 3, Alisha 1
