Football Tournament Report by John Small

Castle School green and amber football Teams went to the Madejski Training Dome for a special schools tournament. All the players gave 110% and their behaviour as always was impeccable. Alisha was the top scorer for the amber team scoring a total of 7 goals; she could have not achieved this without the support of Ricky, Luke, Christopher and Kira who worked so hard in defence and mid field. The amber goal keeper Clayton, made some very impressive saves, showing how agile and quick he was to respond.

Jamie and Bradley worked so hard up front for the green team, they showed fantastic team work scoring a total of 4 goals between them and some unlucky cross bars. They would have not had these chances if it wasn’t for the skill and accuracy of Brandon’s passes from mid-field. Christopher, Tyrell and Kyle played fantastically in defence supporting their goal keeper and team captain Ryan. Ryan also made some impressive saves and gave great advice from the goal.

Thank you to John Small for being the team photographer and reporter.

Happy New Year and welcome back

A very Happy New Year too all our pupils, staff, parents and governors. I hope you all had a restful and fun Christmas holiday.

I am very excited to see all the fantastic learning that is going to take place this term. Walking around the classrooms today it was wonderful to see everyone really up for the challenge and working really hard.

I hope to post some pictures later this week of all the learning that is taking place. Seeing our staff and pupils working so well together and developing learning always makes me feel so proud to be the Headteacher of The Castle School.

I look forward to continued brilliant progress of all our pupils over this term.
